Adult Rehabilitation

Hearing loss in adults, be it mild or severe, can have deliberating consequences on our professional and social lives. We believe that each patient has very specific hearing needs, therefore, we prioritize assessment and discussion prior to any step. Each patient’s hearing will be expertly tested and their communication needs will be discussed in detail. A treatment plan will be created based on our two-way discussions, and tailored in a way that provides the best possible solution for every patient.

Pediatric Rehabilitation

Our children are like snowflakes. Each unique and magical in their own way. Therefore, we aim to support hard-of-hearing children with adequate solutions to accommodate their specific needs in an effective and time-efficient manner. Little children are not to be cared for like adults. Most often they cannot express or indicate what and how they are hearing. It is our responsibility to ensure their hearing needs are being met and that they are carefully followed up. Using gold-standard methods and technologies, we ensure that each child is able to hear so they can excel socially and academically.

Our services include testing for children from birth until teenage years. These assessments include Behavioral Audiometry, Visual Reinforcement Audiometry, Play Audiometry, Tympanometry, Otoacoustic Emissions, Real Ear Measurements, treatment plans and questionnaires.

Tinnitus Therapy

STEP 1
Comprehensive hearing testing and tinnitus evaluation (45–120-minute appointment). This includes hearing booth testing and filling appropriate questionnaires
STEP 2
Discussion of tinnitus therapy options which include: Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
STEP 3
Upon deciding what therapy route is best, six sessions will be scheduled for either program
STEP 4
Hearing aid fitting and noise generator instruments will be prescribed according to each patient’s needs
STEP 5
Patient will be discharged when tinnitus is no longer bothersome

Real Ear Measurements

• Real ear measurements are the gold standard procedure for hearing aid fittings. These services are rarely provided by clinicians due to lack of expertise and knowledge and cost.
• These machine measurements allow the audiologist to measure the sound as it comes out of the hearing aid into your ears
• Using this technology ONLY can the clinician be certain that the patient has access to all speech sounds which are vital for communication. Instead of relying on patient feedback alone, combining it with REM ensures best fit for everyone
• This is especially important when fitting children with hearing aids as they rely on the sound that is coming from the hearing aid to develop their speech and language. Any minor issues with amplification can lead to long-term hearing and speech issues which parents may not be aware of.

Telehealth Appointments

• Our patients have the option of choosing telehealth appointment which involve online scheduling of appointments through our mobile app
• Our audiologists can connect to a patient’s hearing aids through our online applications and share a video screen where patient and clinician can communicate efficiently
• These services are provided upon request from the patient and advised if patients are high-risk for covid19 infections.
