Cleaning method for Custom Hearing Aids:
Use a soft cloth to wipe the instrument of any wax or other debris.
Gently brush away dirt or debris from the external receiver. If the external wax filter is significantly blocked or sound seems quieter, replace the filter or seek help from your hearing care professional.
Hearing Instrument Care
When you remove your hearing aids, turn them off.
Keep your hearing aid(s) clean and dry. Daily cleaning is recommended for all hearing aid styles.After removing your hearing aids, wipe them with a soft cloth to keep them clean and dry
Do not use water or solvents, as these can damage the hearing instrument(s).
Never immerse hearing aid(s) in water or other liquids, as liquids may cause permanent damage to the hearing instruments.
Do not wear your instrument(s) while showering, swimming, in heavy rain or in a moist atmosphere such as a steam bath or sauna.
If your instrument(s) does get wet, or if it has been exposed to high humidity or perspiration, it should be left to dry out overnight with the battery out and the battery compartment open.
Do not leave hearing aids in or near direct heat or sunlight, such as in a hot, parked car, as excessive heat can cause damage or deform the casing.
Apply cosmetics, perfume, after-shave, hairspray, lotions etc. BEFORE putting on your hearing aids. These products can damage or discolor your hearing aids.
When not worn, store hearing aids in a case or dry aid box, especially if you have small children or pets.
If the device is certified to IP68 for water and dust resistance:
– The device has IP6X protection against ingress of dust. Avoid the device getting exposed to extensive dust.
– The device has IPX8 protection against ingress of water. Avoid the device getting exposed to water, and do not swim, shower or sauna while wearing the device.
